Fannie May Mint Meltaways Party: Can you eat just one a day?

Fannie May Mint Meltaways

Fannie May Mint Meltaways

Hi Fannie May Fans! Welcome to the Fannie May Mint Meltaways Can-you-eat-just-one-a-day party! Ok so the idea behind this party is pretty simple. If you are familiar with Fannie May Mint Meltaways, you know that it is quite hard to eat just one at a time, much less one per day. Ok quite hard is an understatement, it’s darn near impossible! So we thought we’d have some fun with this fact.

So in about a paragraph or two, tell us about your experiences with eating Mint Meltaways (or if you have never tried them, where your chocolate & mint imagination goes) .

We’ll pick 3 random people and send them a box of the Fannie May Mint Meltaways. Then the interesting part comes in! After receiving their box of Mint Meltaways, we would like the 3 people to see if they can have JUST 1 mint meltaway per day and come to come to our Facebook Fan Page page each day and let us know if they were able to stick to it! Ok so go ahead and put your paragraph or two below!

Hi All, we know we sort of say this over and over on our Facebook page. But we wanted to say it here as well. On this blog, we make sure to read each every comment as well. Whether it’s one that involves picking winners or not, each and every comment you post is absolutely important to us. We say that not in that sort of marketing-eese type of way. We really value your feedback. And the reason is you are our customers and what you say is not only vital but also very interesting to us. We love what we do here at Fannie May. And what we do is Chocolate. And from what we gather :), you share that great love for Chocolate as well. Oh as always, we not only print the comments, but discuss them here internally at Fannie May. Thanks so much.

I grew up eating them because my dad would buy them. I love them and they bring wonderful childhood memories of a rare time shared with just me and my dad. Hard to accomplish being a child in a family of 6 kids.

  3. 1st of all omg NO i can not eat just one, i will promise you i will eat every last one of them!! and have to run out for more!!! if i would give some one a box, its at there best interest not to open the mints untill iam far far away!!!!! no i cant just have 1….. and dont even ask me about the pixes or the dixes!!!!!!!!!love them all…

  4. Natalie J. Vandenberghe says:

There’s no way I could accept this challenge–I already know it’s not possible to eat just one creamy, delicious Mint Meltaway! These candies were one of my Mom’s favorites. I have many fond memories of smiles shared while enjoying Mint Meltaways.

  5. Dawn Ottaviani says:

Okay these candies are tradition in my family. We would get them for my dad and if the man was lucky he would a couple. We wake up in the morning before school and grab one or two, get home get a couple more and then after dinner. It continued with the grandkids too. Finally we had to start buying two boxes…one for him to hide and one of us. They always appear in their Easter baskets along with the Fanny May jelly beans. Boy to these Meltaways bring back fond memories.

  6. Kathy Butler says:

I’ve never actually tried Mint Meltaways, even though I have been a fan of Fannie May chocolates for many years. I tend toward the Dark Chocolate Vanilla Buttercreams, Chocolate Covered Cherries, Hostess Mints and Peppermint Ice. You could say that I am in a rut and need to try something different!

I adore the mixture of chocolate and mint together. They are two flavors that were born to be together. When I was pregnant with both of my children, I enjoyed the Hostess Mints, because I imagined that they made my tummy feel a bit better if I was feeling nauseous. I am pretty sure that there is no medical or scientific reason for me to think that, but it worked for me. 

I believe that I can take your challenge (or at least try!) because I have dedicated myself to living a healthier lifestyle. I’m eating well and have taken up running with plans to run a half marathon at Disney World next February/March. However, I don’t feel that denying my favorite things completely is the right way to go, so enjoying one Mint Meltaway would be perfect. I also will have no problem reporting in on my progress. My husband doesn’t like mint (but I love him anyway!) so there is no danger of him sneaking in and eating them all before I get to them. Haha!

  7. Laura Baker says:

Eat just one a day? Minty madness!! I love to nibble the outer covering and then let the rest of the chocolatey cube melt in my mouth just to make them last longer. It’s an impossible task to eat just one…

  8. Dawn Pitzer says:

I’m not sure I could stick with one melt away a day. I usually put the box in the freezer then go in and get one piece for each family member. It takes me back to being a little girl…. box of them at grandma’s and box with mom. Very special and it’s become a precious part of our gifts to each other. :)

  9. Charlotte LeBlanc says:

I have not tried your mint meltaways. I would like to. I know I love the combination of mint and chocolate. I don’t know if I could only eat one a day. I find chocolate to be a food that you can’t have only one bite of. I know if it is from Fannie May, it will always be good, and I won’t be able to eat just one.

  10. Cindy Mitchell says:

I have been eating Mint Meltaways since I was a little girl and they are far and away my favorite Fanny May candy. My sister and I always got a box of those and Peppermint Ice from our grandparents for Christmas. Although I can’t imagine eating only one per day, I’m certainly up for trying it if I win. It would certainly be a great disciplinary exercise as I’m a chocoholic. Besides, my Fannie May bunny is almost gone, so it’s time for a refill of Fannie May chocolate! :-)

  11. Lori says:

Are you kidding? It’s chocolate and mint. I might be able to limit myself to a handful but never one. How about if I win I seriously try to limit myself to one an hour?

  12. Louise Baloun says:

I follow the Weight Watcher plan and I make room in my daily allotment of points for one piece of chocolate – although there are days that I may have a second (too good to pass up)! Fannie May is the best and mint meltaways are the bomb!!! Keep up the good work!

  13. we buy several pounds at a time some in house like just green some like both some like only chocolate i my self will eat them anytime anywhere here or there oh i do love mint meltaways mom that i am

  14. Rick says:

I love mint meltaways. It’s my favorite after dinner chocolate. Not sure if I could do the one a day thing but I could try.

  15. Sarah says:

I counted the number of Mint Meltaways in that box. There are 72. That means you want your winners to stretch out their consumption of their prize box for over TWO MONTHS! Are you insane? How about two a day?
My aunt used to buy the Mint Meltaways (mom preferred the Buttercreams – are you going to do a Buttercream contest?) and bring them to our house when she visited. I have always been a huge fan of mint and chocolate (sometimes I would even eat Frangos). The Mint Meltaways are so tiny that you never feel you are overdoing it if you eat a few. I like to bite them in half and let them melt in my mouth.
I would be a worthy winner and try to follow the rules. Pick me.

  16. i have already posted, how-ever please tell me when you will pick winners, i dont no how much longer i can stand not having one!!! omg i can taste them now!! i guess i will go take a long walk so i dont have to think about winning me some fannie may lol…….

  17. Amanda says:

Every time I go home to Chicago I buy at least one box of chocolates from Fannie May to take back to Texas with me. I do share the box with my husband, but we each only get 1 piece each day, to make the box last us as long as possible (I do not go back to Chicago very often, and we did not know about the website until recently). I think we would be able to stick to one piece a day since for us Fannie May was already a rare treat to savor.

  18. Karen Wold-Wallis says:

Living in Southern California all of my life, I don’t have any childhood memories of eating Mint Meltaways (cue the sad violin music). In fact, I’ve never had them before, but I would definitely like to try them and give you my opinion of them afterwards!

I would say my “chocolate and mint imagination” goes right to my mailbox, in case some kind person would send me some Mint Meltaways, to help me get over my deprived childhood. :D

  19. Patricia says:

I consider myself to have strong willpower but the thought of just one Mint Meltaway a day is crazy! That I can’t do. But should I win, I’ll give it my best shot.

  20. Irma M. says:

I’ve been eating Mint Meltaways for many, MANY years. I *think* they are my favorite (unless I’m eating a Trinidad, then THAT’s my favorite, LOL ). Anyway, I have tried this experiment before, but limiting myself to TWO a day. Most days I was good, but once in awhile and third and fourth found its way, somehow, into my mouth.

  21. oh i had a dream that the mail man came and brought me some fannie may mints to see if i could eat just 1 …. well if my dream comes true and the mail, man brings them, i will let you no……… i even love the beautiful color of them….yummy *********

  22. Jeanne says:

Meltaways are the best – along with the ice cream and the cheesecake. Small in size but big on taste.

  23. Franklyn says:

Truly difficult to get informed people within this matter, nevertheless, you sound like you understand what you are writing on! With thanks

  24. The best way to limit Mint Meltaway consumption is to freeze them. Pop one in your mouth before leaving for work in the morning, and enjoy! By the time the treat is gone, you should be miles from home, which makes resisting a second treat possible!

  25. Christine LaRocco says:

Boy where do I start? First I have tried many times to eat just one and never have I succeeded. I even tried freezing them thinking that would help – what happened I LOVE them frozen too. I also have my family in Georgia, I live in Chicago addicted to these little mint pieces of heaven. Every time I go to visit I bring 2 boxes, one so the family can share and one so my mom can hid for herself. Well my mom has passed away but my sister has taken the mint meltaway tradition and hides a box for herself. I am so happy I get to enjoy them all year round! Thanks for opening back up the store in Carol Stream, IL

  26. Pete says:

Sure. One Mint Meltaway a day is a cinch. That is of course if it were possible to shorten a day to say something like 2 or 3 hours. Otherwise, not a chance.

  27. Lisa Grassetti says:

I have never tried them but mint and chocolate are two of my favorite :) I am sure they are so smooth and delish!! I like that you have chocolate ones and mint color ones packaged so great to pop one in your mouth, I wonder what my box would look like would you eat all the green ones first? I think I would haha :-)

  28. RL JETER says:

I love meltaways and Fannie May is just the place to get them. I received some last Christmas and was wondering when I would be getting more. hopefully now.

  29. Patti Mitchell says:

I would really love to try out your chocolates. I dont know much about these but they look very tasty. The closest I’ve come is Thin mints

  30. Maggie Mckay says:

I have never tried them but surely would like to . Chocolate and mint together sound really nice.

  31. Peggie Duplant says:

I have not had these in many years. They are delicious and do melt in your mouth. They are a perfect Easter gift too.

  32. Beth says:

Just one a day!?!? I don’t know about that. Especially in the summer when that perfect mix of chocolate and mint are so refreshing and delicious. But, I’d be willing to take one for the team :)
